12-1 – Seeing Ball; Searching for Ball

…A player is not necessarily entitled to see his ball when making a stroke. In searching for his ball anywhere on the course, the player may touch or bend long grass, rushes, bushes, whins, heather or the like, but only to the extent necessary to find or identify the ball, provided that this does not improve the lie of the ball, the area of his intended stance or swing or his line of play; if the ball is moved, Rule 18-2a applies except as provided in clauses (a) – (d) of this Rule. In addition to the methods of searching for and identifying a ball that are otherwise permitted by the Rules, the player may also search for and identify a ball under Rule 12-1 as follows:

a. Searching for or Identifying Ball Covered by Sand
If the player’s ball lying anywhere on the course is believed to be covered by sand, to the extent that he cannot find or identify it, he may, without penalty, touch or move the sand in order to find or identify the ball. If the ball is found, and identified as his, the player must re-create the lie as nearly as possible by replacing the sand. If the ball is moved during the touching or moving of sand while searching for or identifying the ball, there is no penalty; the ball must be replaced and the lie re-created. In re-creating a lie under this Rule, the player is permitted to leave a small part of the ball visible.

b. Searching for or Identifying Ball Covered by Loose Impediments in Hazard
In a hazard, if the player’s ball is believed to be covered by loose impediments to the extent that he cannot find or identify it, he may, without penalty, touch or move loose impediments in order to find or identify the ball. If the ball is found or identified as his, the player must replace the loose impediments. If the ball is moved during the touching or moving of loose impediments while searching for or identifying the ball, Rule 18-2a applies; if the ball is moved during the replacement of the loose impediments, there is no penalty and the ball must be replaced.
If the ball was entirely covered by loose impediments, the player must re-cover the ball but is permitted to leave a small part of the ball visible.      …….

12-1 – Cercare la palla; Vedere la Palla 

..Un giocatore non ha necessariamente il diritto di vedere la propria palla mentre esegue un colpo. Nel cercare la propria palla in qualunque punto del campo, il giocatore può toccare o piegare erba alta, giunchi, cespugli, ginestre, erica o vegetazioni simili, ma solamente quando necessario per trovarla o identificarla, purché ciò non migliori il lie della palla, l’area di stance che intende prendere o dello swing che intende effettuare o la sua linea di gioco. Se la palla viene mossa, si applica la Regola 18-2a, eccetto quanto previsto nelle clausole a-d di questa Regola. In aggiunta alle modalità di ricerca ed identificazione di una palla, che sono altrimenti permesse dalle Regole, secondo la Regola 12-I il giocatore può cercare ed identificare una palla anche come segue :

a. Cercare o Identificare la Palla Coperta di Sabbia. 

Ovunque sul campo, se si ritiene che la palla del giocatore sia coperta di sabbia al punto da non poterla trovare o identificare, il giocatore può, senza penalità, toccare o muovere la sabbia per trovare o identificare la palla. Se la palla è trovata e identificata come propria, il giocatore deve ricreare il lie il meglio possibile rimettendo a posto la sabbia. Se la palla è mossa nel toccare o nel muovere la sabbia nel corso della ricerca o dell’identificazione della palla, non c’è penalità; la palla deve essere ripiazzata e il lie ricreato. Nel ricreare il lie secondo questa Regola, al giocatore è consentito lasciare visibile una piccola parte della palla.

b. Cercare o Identificare la Palla Coperta da Impedimenti sciolti in Ostacolo.

In un  ostacolo, se si ritiene che la palla del giocatore sia coperta da impedimenti sciolti al punto di non poterla trovare o identificare, il giocatore può, senza penalità, toccare o muovere impedimenti sciolti allo scopo di trovare o identificare la palla. Se la palla è trovata o identificata come propria, il giocatore deve rimettere a posto gli impedimenti sciolti. Se la palla è mossa nel toccare o nel muovere gli impedimenti sciolti nel corso della ricerca o dell’identificazione della palla, si applica la Regole 18-2a; se la palla è mossa nel rimettere a posto gli impedimenti sciolti, non c’è penalità e la palla deve essere ripiazzata. Se la palla era interamente coperta da impedimenti sciolti, il giocatore deve ricoprirla, ma gli è consentito lasciare visibile una piccola parte di essa. ..
